CONFERENCE ANNUAL FALL GATHERING: OCTOBER 5

Caring for God’s Creation: Climate Justice, Environmental Racism

By Linda K, MN Conference UWFaith Program Coordinator

Join us Saturday, October 5, 2024, 9:00am until 2:30pm at Centennial UMC (1524 Co. Rd. C2 West) in Roseville for an informative and engaging day learning about environmental racism, discovering how you can steward God’s creation, and finding ways to protect those who are disproportionately affected by the climate crisis.

Our guest speaker, Executive for Economic and Environmental Justice at UWF National Ilka Vega (pictured above right), will present an overview of the Just Energy for All campaign, its achievements over the past six years, and how our organization is addressing environmental racism.

Also joining us will be a presenter from Minnesota Interfaith Power and Light to talk about how our churches can become Certified Climate Justice Congregations.

Taking Care of Business

Part of the business taking place at the Annual Gathering is voting on a slate of officers nominated for Conference positions, recognizing outgoing officers, approving the 2025 Budget and Standing Rules, and accepting the minutes of the 2023 Annual Gathering.

The Executive Team meets on October 4 at 3 pm followed by supper and then set up and tech check for Saturday. You can sign in and join us for Emma’s tea starting at 8 am on October 5.
