As the Seasons Change

General Conference, Annual Conference, NCJ for United Women in Faith, and NCJ for the UMC are all behind us at this moment. There is, as always “work to be done”, “gaps to fill” new opportunities to grasp. The events of 2024 have inspired joy, closure, and “much to savor”.
Within this issue of Fresh Connection, we are looking forward to our Fall Annual Gathering where we will worship together, learn together and during leadership development time learn new ways of working and serving together.
We are seeking people to serve on our District and Conference teams, looking for new ways of supporting and encouraging the development of new leaders within our organization. Connect with our Committee on Nominations team for ways you can “exercise your passion” within our supportive sisterhood.
Collaboration with our many partners is bearing fruit in many ways yet there is always room for more. In 2024 Emma Norton Services has a new “home” for their services and Restoring Waters is now providing housing for individuals and families in need of shelter and services. Churches provided generously through the Love Offering in support of Emma Norton Services as well as other mission needs.
Our connection with the Dakota’s UWFaith has provided opportunity to extend the reach of the Emma Norton Mission as well as sharing programming between our respective groups.
In July Earth Keepers of MN engaged in collaborative discussion regarding how our two organizations can work more closely together. Through collaborative efforts with COSROW and Mn Church and Society group, two pieces of Legislation were passed in this past Annual Conference.
Mission U inspired us to experience the Kin-dom of God through our seeing, feeling, hearing, smelling, etc.
Indeed we are encouraged to use all of our being in service to the Kin-dom as we find new and wonderful ways to encourage, embrace and support one another.
